About me
Originally from South Africa, I have been living in the UK for more than 17 years.
I have been practising as a psychotherapeutic counsellor since 2013. Before working as a psychotherapeutic counsellor, I worked in IT and understand the pressures of working in a corporate environment and the related issues resulting in stress, performance anxiety and in personal life.
Qualifications
I completed four years on the taught part of the MSc Relational Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy programma at the Metanoia Institute in Ealing, London. I hold a Clinical Postgraduate Diploma in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapeutic Counselling and a Diploma in Transactional Analysis studies (counselling and psychotherapy), Middlesex University, London. My training included working with individuals, couples/relationships and groups.
Experience
I work in private practice supporting individuals and people in relationships/couples.
I work with Strategic Wellbeing providing psychotherapeutic services to corporate organisations.
I previously worked with clients at the following organisations; Metanoia counselling psychotherapy service (2013-2014) and the Wimbledon Guild counselling service (2014-2019). I have experience working at an NHS Psychiatric Hospital in North London (acute wards) as part of a multidisciplinary team providing complex care (2020). I worked with Duty to Care charity and we offered psychotherapeutic support throughout the pandemic to NHS healthcare workers (2020-2023).
Ethics
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP), the European Association for Transactional Analysis, the International Association of Relational Transactional Analysis, and the Metanoia Institute and abide by their ethical framework.
Professional Practice
I attend regular Continuing Professional Development (CPD) workshops to keep my skills and knowledge up-to-date.
I am committed to my own personal development.
I meet regularly with a clinical supervisor to review and support my work.
